August 17, 2005 - The forum and chat room of this website have been moved to its new sister site.  Judged a part of fan communications, the two elements were shifted en masse to the website of the new official fan club, Michael Praed's Fanfare, last week.

August 13, 2005 - Kate Raymond, head of MPNN, recently announced the formal retirement of Michael Praed's first official fan club, the Michael Praed Network Newsletter.  Begun in 1991, MPNN enjoyed a worldwide membership.  For more than a decade, MPNN offered photographs, fanzines, a privately released album, a web site, field trips, fan club parties, and opportunities to visit Michael Praed onstage.  The club's newsletter was a popular feature.  In mid 2003 Kate Raymond, together with her partner Morn Geiger, decided a sabbatical was necessary to get their fledgling business off the ground.  Explaining that running a business had been a heavy drain, in July Raymond announced she no longer had enough time to devote to MPNN.

At Kate Raymond's suggestion, Michael Praed approved Celeste Moore, webmaster of www.michael-praed.com, to maintain an official website and start a new fan club, named Michael Praed's Fanfare.   Raymond will assist Moore initially to insure the transition between fan clubs goes smoothly.

"I'm sure I speak for all of us when I say that Michael Praed, his fans and I would like to thank Kate Raymond and Morn Geiger for years of hard work. They did a exceptional job and will be missed" stated Celeste Moore.

Although the new website is up and running, membership specifics have not been finalized.  Watch Fanfare for updates.

July 7, 2005 - Kate Raymond, head of MPNN, sent news that Michael Praed and his family are well after terrorist attacks on London this morning.

May 5, 2005 - Zoe Howes, Commissioning Editor for Audio Books at Random House, confirmed the Michael Praed narration of Paul Stewart's 'Beyond the Deepwoods' will be issued in the UK alone.  Earlier information indicated Praed might be reading the US version as well, but this was in error.  Stewart's 'Beyond the Deepwoods',  the first installment in the children's series the Edge Chronicles, will be released in audiobook form September 1, 2005.  Ordering information will be posted when it is available.

May 2, 2005 - Paul Stewart's 'Beyond the Deepwoods',  the first installment in the children's series the Edge Chronicles, will be released in audiobook form September 1, 2005.  The narrator will be Michael Praed.  The story follows the lad Twig, who's been raised by a family of woodtrolls. In the process of discovering his destiny, he finds squelchy monsters with peculiar traits, unexpected friends, and his true parentage.  Like JK Rowling's Harry Potter stories, Stewart's world is multifaceted enough for older readers to enjoy too.

March 5, 2005 - Michael Praed narrated "Timewatch: Murder in Rome" on BBC2 Friday, March 4th.  In 80 BC, Cicero steps ups to defend Sextus Roscius who was accused of murdering his father, the ultimate Roman crime.  Cicero's methods for making a final argument to a jury serves as a guideline for defense lawyers to this day.

February 6, 2005 - Forty-three celebrities, including Michael Praed, participated in the Celebrity Poker Club tournament held in Cardiff Wales, according to a report in the Sunday Daily Mail by Toby Young.  The tournament will be broadcast in the UK later this year on the Challenge TV channel.

February 5, 2005 - Michael Praed narrated "Natural World: Serengeti 24" on BBC2 Thursday, February 3rd.  It chronicled the maternal behavior of a cheetah and a leopard as they raised cubs in the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. 

January 25, 2005 - For fans in Europe, an early glimpse of Michael Praed in 1983 can now be bought online.  'The Professionals' Series 5 with the episode 'No Stone' is available thru Amazon UK. Praed portrayed a cold terrorist in a few scenes. November 30, 2004 - Michael Praed was in attendance at a launch party to announce the nominations for the 2005 Whatsonstage.com Theatregoers Choice Awards.  The awards are decided by poll amongst theatregoers in the UK and sponsored by Whatsonstage.com.  The launch party at Planet Hollywood was well-attended by stars of the British theatre.  Although Michael wasn't nominated, his co-star in 'Three on a Couch', Leigh Zimmerman, was for Mel Brooks' comedy 'The Producers'.  One production frequently mentioned was Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber's 'The Woman in White' with Michael Crawford and Maria Friedman, another former Praed co-star.

November 8, 2004 - Michael Praed will be appearing at the Memorabilia Show at the NEC, Birmingham UK on November 27th and 28th, 2004.  You can either buy photos there for autographs, or you may bring your own.  Suggestion: Take your camera.
