Due to the international
nature of Michael Praed's fandom, fans need to be aware of video formats
and regions before purchasing something outside their particular
country.
The video format refers
to the type of video broadcast standards your television uses to receive broadcasts in
your country. Your video tape player needs to match your TV.
There are multi-format players available.
DVDs are encoded
for various regions. The movie studios have jointly
divided the world into zones which corresponds to their distribution system.
This is so
that a program/movie can be released exclusively to a particular
area.
DVD players
destined for sale within a particular country are
usually coded for their area's region before they are sold.
There are multi-region players offered.
Computers which
play DVDs are
often variable for a limited number of times, then sets itself
on the last choice of region made. There is software available to make
the changes unlimited.
Just because
a DVD or video tape is listed here does not mean it is available in a
format compatible with your equipment! Please check what you can
play before purchasing. Many venders won't give refunds. |
